DECONSTRUCTION OF IMAGE
for this project we had to use our editorial to deconstruct the image and create a new editorial out of it, I started off by just mashing up a picture using the clone stamp tool, just repeating certain parts of the image all over the spread. I especially focussed on facial features as to hint at the idea that this person has an opinion and a voice. After this I looked at punk graphic magazines like sniffin glue and tried to take the DIY xerography look into my own hands. I started by thresholding the images and repeated the phrase forbidden to make a wallpaper effect behind a headless version of the model at an angle, to make it seem like he's falling into this pit of forbideness. Next I took some of my own handwriting with scrawled angry messages and put it behind a thresholded detail of the tshirt from the shoot. In other shoots I highlighted details such as the eyes of the detailing on a shoe or a sock. In an other one I doodled a demonic figure and vandalised the face of the model to show a dark and sinister side to him, that is perhaps preceived by the members of society who are opressing the youth.
