Today we created moodboards for what would become our editorial, we were asked to explore themes on our identity. As a starting point I decided to trawl through all my old and current iPhone pictures to grasp a theme that centres around my identity. I soon noticed a theme emerging that could only be described as sort of dirty/dark/grungy. I took this and made a mood board out of all relevant pictures and some i found online, the initial result is below.
After doing this we used adobe colour to pick out colour palettes relevant to the picture that would eventually consider to use for the shoot. I managed to find out how to upload a picture onto adobe colour and then pick the colours from the image, i made 3 colour palettes which can be seen below:
My favourite palette is the middle one, the range of colours really depict the mood i was hoping to portray. Next we were asked to create more moodboards that would explore location, styling and casting, which can be seen below. I wanted to do my shoot in a very grey and almost dull environment, to depict the banality of how teenage life often is.
I really enjoyed this day, it was incredibly useful to find out a way to plan out a project so thoroughly like this. By the end of the day I had already started thinking about exactly where and how I was going to conduct this shoot.
